People often ask us:
What do I need to do if I am involved in an accident? How do I file a claim?

If you were involved in an accident, first check if anyone involved had suffered any injuries and call an ambulance, if necessary.

The next thing you need to do is call the police and let them know where the accident happened. Do not move your car unless you are blocking the traffic.

The police officers will examine the accident and write up a police report.

Very important: the police report is the most crucial document to assess the amount of insurance payout you will get. Make sure that it includes all damages, including the ones to your personal belongings and any injuries suffered by anyone involved.

To file a claim, you can call us directly on 800-BEEMA (23362) or submit your application via this online form.

You will need to provide the following:

  1. A copy of the police accident report
  2. A copy of your car registration
  3. Your driver’s license

You don’t need to send the original via post, a simple pdf scan or a screenshot will do.

How can I follow up on an open claim?

You can either reach AXA’s claims experts on 800 AXA (292) or via the online tracking service, which you can register for here.

How and when will I be paid?

It depends on the type of damage and its severity.

For car repairs: maximum three days after we’ve received the estimate from the repair shop. The duration of the repairs depends heavily on the extent of the damage. FYI, remember that we offer a replacement car while you wait for yours to be fixed.

For other types of claims, (e.g. injuries or personal belongings): once you’ve sent us the necessary documents, we’ll wire the payment within five days, at most.
